Welcome to Foundchild
Founchild was created as a direct result of the tragedy lived by Gabriela Arias Uriburu and her three children in December 1997, for whom their mother started a road of love different to the everyday road.
The situation that Gabriela had to undergo with them, awoke the idea of creating a Foundation which purpose be, above all, to assert the rights of the child when he/she is distanced from his/her family unexpectedly and distressingly. Thus, in 1998, together with her family, she constitutes the United Children for the World Foundation (“Foundchild”).
Foundchild is created with Gabriela Arias Uriburu as President.
Children have the right to a healthy, free and harmonious tie with both parents. Every boy and girl needs both parents. They should not choose between being with their father “or” mother. Children need a mom and a dad to grow and build their identity that will not be their parents’ identity but that of their own. “The child is more than the sum of his/her parts.”
This is the reason why Karim, Zahira and Sharif’s dramatic story gave meaning to Foundchild’s fight for thousands of children: creating a legal-therapeutic system so that no child in the world never ceases having contact with his/her parents, though they live in different countries and they are from different cultures and religions. Our main purpose, identifying ourselves with international treaties, is to answer the SUPERIOR INTEREST OF BOYS AND GIRLS IN THE WORLD.
Every child has the right to grow in a harmonious and decent environment where his/her voice and heart is heard. In this sense, no matter the judicial actions still pending, our mission is to mediate and reach to an agreement for the children’s well-being.
Not only parents but also governments should become aware of what children’s parenting means: it is the moment when they need their whole potential and it is fundamental that both parents accompany, look after and protect their well-being.
Foundchild portrays as Childhood Institution and from that position, offers itself as Mediator between parents and, it gives the necessary support and understanding in order to safeguard the rights of the children so that they can fully develop.
